Your Miracle Is Right Around the Corner

Around the corner

When I woke up this morning, I started to meditate.  I heard the small voice of God speaking. It’s amazing how God’s presence can change our perspective and change our entire day.  Not to get too personal, but as I was preparing breakfast this morning, I felt the visitation of God.  It was very strong.

First, God wants us to “COMMAND” our mornings. Take time to pray, meditate, exercise, journal, or self-reflect.  These strategies can help “set” the temperament for our entire day.  Daily, it’s imperative that we honor God by carving out time to converse with Him. When we fail to command our mornings by honoring God, distractions from the enemy can seep into our spirit causing physical and spiritual disruptions.  When we pray, we’re equipping ourselves to withstand the blows of the enemy.  Get rooted in the word when driving to work, while drinking coffee, or while sitting in bed aimlessly.  Every moment that we invite God in, we willfully build a spiritual bridge that allows us to tap into God’s purpose for our lives.  His word daily is food to our souls and nourishment for our bodies.

Next, God doesn’t want us to compromise.  We must stand strong, and we cannot compromise our well-being in this season.  Stay focus; stay mentally healthy; stress-free, and guilt-free. I must be honest; I use to compromise myself for the sake of fitting in with others.  But as I continually grow in Christ, God reminds me to stand on His word as a guide for my life as noted in Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) where it is written that God has a plan for our lives.  It’s not to harm us, but these plans are to prosper us so that we’ll have hope as He guides and directs us into our future.  Therefore, we must stop compromising our peace.  Remember, God doesn’t function in dysfunction.  He’s a man of order. That’s why it’s important that we build a relationship with God and that we converse with Him daily as we “Command Our Mornings.”

Then, God wants us to trust HIM!!!  I believe that God’s building our FAITH in this season.  He’s building our faith with various test and trials.  Through these various test and trails, God is causing us to exercise our faith and depend totally on him.  For it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV), “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Finally, God’s working a miracle in our lives.  Let’s stay strong and not sway from God when situations start to look weary.  Remember, God is watching during the test; he’s just quiet as He conducts an evaluation of our hearts and reactions to see if we’re walking by “faith” or walking by “sight”.

Sincerely,

Giving Birth to Big Dreams

IMG_20130427_223450The Thorns Within…: Giving Birth to Big Dreams

It’s been awhile since the last time I’ve written a post. As I’ve stood back and watch God move in my life, I’ve heard God say many times, “Ring the alarm because today is not the day to be quiet!” As Sisters Healing Against Mental Emotions™ (S.H.A.M.E.), it’s important that we stand up and ring the alarm because it’s your time to “BIRTH BIG DREAMS” with BRILLIANCE!

In my book The Thorns Within…I write, “As women, many of us have had a dream that couldn’t be birthed. We cried and sought ways to become pregnant in an effort to bring forth the vision, but in our attempts, the vision was broken. God had promised Abraham children that would become a great and mighty nation. Imagine being giving this type of information, only to not see the fruit of your loins quickly. As a believer of God, you would feel cheated and angry.” (p. 42) I go on to write, “…like Sarah in the Bible, how many of you have aborted your embryo only to be jealous of others who have labored through the process?” (p. 43)

If we’re honest with ourselves, many of us suffer from the spirit of jealousy because we fail to “push forth” our vision that God has impregnated us with days, weeks, or years ago. How much longer will we as entrepreneurs sit on our dream(s)? How much longer will we complain, roll our eyes at other women who’ve pulled themselves up from the ditches, who’s put forth the effort to excel, or who promote true SISTERHOOD?

Today is not the day to stop dreaming, wanting, or yearning for a better tomorrow. It’s not the day to stop being friends with someone because the “spirit of jealousy and truth” was too great for you to handle. As sisters, it’s imperative that we learn to wait on God, but most importantly, listen and heed to God’s words in the interim while He gives directions and purpose for our journey. ~ShameNoMore

Waiting is not a bad thing,

Words from Tyler Perry

Good Morning Ladies,
I was checking my facebook page this morning, and I ran across this post from Tyler Perry.  I just had to REPOST it here for you guys to read.  In this season of my life, these words are powerful and I truly need to contemplate these words as well.
WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU?

I said this in a play once as Madea… LOL. But I thought I’d revisit it as Tyler for those of you who may not have heard it 🙂

I have this tree analogy when I think of people in my life, be it friends, family, acquaintances, employees, co-workers, whomever…They are all placed inside what I call my tree test. It goes like this:

LEAF PEOPLE
Some people come into your life and they are like leaves on a tree. They are only there for a season. You can’t depend on them or count on them because they are weak and only there to give you shade. Like leaves, they are there to take what they need and as soon as it gets cold or a wind blows in your life they are gone. You can’t be angry at them, it’s just who they are.

BRANCH PEOPLE
There are some people who come into your life and they are like branches on a tree. They are stronger than leaves, but you have to be careful with them. They will stick around through most seasons, but if you go through a storm or two in your life it’s possible that you could lose them. Most times they break away when it’s tough. Although they are stronger than leaves, you have to test them out before you run out there and put all your weight on them. In most cases they can’t handle too much weight. But again, you can’t be mad with them, it’s just who they are.

ROOT PEOPLE
If you can find some people in your life who are like the roots of a tree then you have found something special. Like the roots of a tree, they are hard to find because they are not trying to be seen. Their only job is to hold you up and help you live a strong and healthy life. If you thrive, they are happy. They stay low key and don’t let the world know that they are there. And if you go through an awful storm they will hold you up. Their job is to hold you up, come what may, and to nourish you, feed you and water you.

Just as a tree has many limbs and many leaves, there are few roots. Look at your own life. How many leaves, branches and roots do you have? What are you in other people’s lives?

THANK GOD FOR YOUR ROOTS! You may want to call them today or share this message with them and attach your own note saying, “thanks for being my root”.

By the way, don’t waste your time sending this to a leaf, they won’t get it anyway. ~Tyler Perry

Know Your Season: It’s Time

Hello My S.H.A.M.E. Sisters,

An essential to living a healthy, peaceful, and fulfilled life is through moderation and understanding God’s timing in your life. Moderation is simply living with normalcy and understanding your “season”.  Therefore, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says,

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;  A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;  A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;  A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;  A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.” (KJV)  #KnowYourSeason

It Ain’t Over Monday: S.H.A.M.E.

Hello my sisters in Christ,

Today is “It Ain’t Over Monday”!  Therefore, put your War Armor on and PUSH forward my Sisters Healing Against Mental Emotions (S.H.A.M.E.).  Remember, the devil wants to see you defeated, broken, and most of all SHAME.  Well ladies, we’re not going to throw in the towel just yet!  Therefore, here are several scriptures/inspirational words for you to mediate upon today.

Eph 6: 11 states, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (NIV)

(Google Image)

1 Kings 3:5 says, “At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” (NIV)

(Google Image)

In John 16:33 it says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.”

(Google Image)

Matthew 6:8-15 proudly proclaims,

“Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.  This, then, is how you should pray:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (NIV)

Working towards Happiness Continues: Principle #1Know What It Is

(Google Image)

Yes, be bold and strong!  Banish fear and doubts!  For remember, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9 TLB)

Good day Sisters Healing Against Mental Emotions™ (S.H.A.M.E.):

The air was brisk this morning as the sun was faintly kissing against my face.  Today, I felt a slight chill that was cool enough to send a sting down my back as if a wasp had begun a silent attack. So, I slipped on my hot pink sweater with one button as I headed towards the door.  I smiled at my youngest as we approached the car seeking restitution from the unsympathetic air, and then I thought to myself how I would refuse to allow the devil to camp in our territory today.  So, I prayed with my son equipping him with the word of God and reassuring him that the devil would not have victory over him in school today.  As his little eyes looked ahead meeting my eyes in the driver’s front mirror, I spoke with a subtle voice of reason directing him to seek God’s guidance before he spoke or wanted to play mindlessly in class.  I found myself saying…FOCUSING is essential today, so stay focus and give God your attention and all will be well.  Therefore, I hope that you guys are still FOCUSING on Principle #1: Know What Happiness Is as we continue to reflect on Nicole Saunders’ article “10 Keys To Happiness” over the next ten weeks.

First, happiness is what I make it to be.  I came to this notion this morning after receiving a knotty message from my child’s teacher concerning him stirring aimlessly yesterday and not focusing in class.  I smiled and stood their quietly as if I was a child being reprimanded for  the first time about behavior modification and how important it was for my six year old not to get off task even for a minute [he’s in kindergarten].  As a mom, I believe in the foundation of education and focus, so I spoke with him about his actions and informed him that we should not have another day like that one today.  Therefore, I equipped him and myself with the word of God.  I spoke life over my son this morning and decided to take action against the prince of darkness. According to Isaiah 57: 17 it states that “no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD. (NIV)

Second, it takes FOCUS to be happy.  Just like my son’s misbehavior on yesterday, it takes focus to be in a happy place.  Hosea 4:6 affirms, “…my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.”(NIV)  Isn’t this so true?  If I were to think about this scripture just a little deeper, my mind instantly goes to the old saying, “If you fail to plan then you plan to fail.”  Focus is essential to living a happy, positive; yet self-fulfilled life because in order to FOCUS it takes concentration.  For example, I explained to my son that his actions caused a negative reaction in turn causing not only him to be placed in timeout in the carpool line, but it also caused me to receive a parent lecture on him not using his time wisely in class.  Therefore, I further clarified that without FOCUS, he could run the risk of falling behind in his studies and this minor action could have a major reaction to his future.  So, lesson learned for the both of us.

Finally, I believe that happiness is learning from our mistakes. I learned that life is too short to sweat the small stuff, and I believe my youngest learned that for every action there’s a reaction [be it good or bad].  As I continue my journey to learn what happiness is, I will overturn all rocks high and low in search of finding my happy place.  I will apply these words from Dale Carnegie as I eagerly approach every situation throughout my day when he states, “It is the way we react to circumstances that determines our feelings”.

Find your happy place sisters and let’s discuss,

Supporting Your Idol: S.H.A.M.E.

(Google Image)

[Jesus said,] “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be.  My Father will honor the one who serves me.” (John 12: 26 NIV)

Many of you have watched American Idol over the years.  It’s been a great show in the past and still is to some.  You’ve cheered, booed, laughed, or you may have stood in long lines hoping to receive that golden ticket to California.  Whatever your reason(s) for supporting American Idol, you did it faithfully one week after another without relent.  Personally, this show was one of my favorite guilty pleasures in life as well.  I couldn’t wait to flick on the television and wait for that one infamous judge to verbally bite into those singers who some would label the wannabes.  However, just as you take the time to cheerfully support your favorite show(s), God wants you to support Him with the same heart.  He wants to know, who are you idolizing these days?  In order for you to prosper during this season, I hear God saying, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3)

As you get ready this season to support your new hit show(s) be it the Voice, Fashion Stars, Braxton Family Values, Sweetie Pies, or even Mary Mary [okay these are now my new guilty pleasures…], you must remember God is seeking the same type of hype.  He’s waiting anxiously for you to cheer, support, laugh, talk, and gather weekly without hesitation to see what He has planned next for your life.  Remember, in order to become an effective woman of God, you must learn to serve Him fervently. You must learn to be just as attentive and heed to His words daily as you are attentive to flicking that television remote religiously at its designated show time.

It’s understandable that many of you are timid to serve God fully for some odd reason or another, especially if this is a new journey in which you’re embarking upon.  However, in order to establish your fullest potential spiritually according to Exodus 20: 4-5 it states, “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,…” (NIV) Wow!  These are some powerful words to contemplate today.

As you continue to rally nightly in support of your new hit show(s), take the time to provide God with the same one-on-one time as well.  This private time could prove to be special; yet, it can also bring restoration for you as Sisters Healing Against Mental Emotions™ (S.H.A.M.E.).  Just so you understand the importance of setting special time for God, remember he’s personally waiting to make you laugh, cry, and restore the years according to Joel 2:25 “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” (KJV) In other words, as you continue to upgrade your spiritual walk daily learn to idolize the right God and watch Him make you soar.

This obsession is the most powerful of them all,

~Shamenomore

Build a Lasting Friendship: S.H.A.M.E.

(Google Image)

Dear Sisters Healing Against Mental Emotions™ (S.H.A.M.E.):

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 KJV)

My breathe was taking away by the death of an Angel towards the weekend.  I couldn’t believe the phone calls, the Facebook messages, or the talk among family members and friends as they all echoed that she suffered a heart attack that caused a one car accident.  I was numb beyond disbelief.  This person was truly sent from Heaven by man’s standards.  It’s funny how nice people are taking away much too soon. That’s why 1 John 4:7 says, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” (NIV)  That’s when I heard God whispered…the life one lives today will be the life people remember tomorrow.

I can’t believe my friend, cousin, and sister in Christ is gone in her late thirties.  Who would think that a young, vibrant woman would die of a sudden heart attack so young? This death shocked so many of us because of her age, her jubilant spirit for life and her heart to help others.  As women of God, can each of us honestly say that we could be voted friend, sister, mother, cousin, or wife of the year?  Can we justly say we extend ourselves to help others unselfishly, or should we admit that we only render help seeking a favor in return?  Remember, Proverbs 17:17 states, “A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.” (NLT)

As Sisters Healing Against Mental Emotions™ (S.H.A.M.E.), it’s funny how God will make us stop in our tracks and think about the people who we could have helped more or hope that we could have recanted the “words of hurt” or “words of sorrow” that we’ve echoed out of rage.  That’s why it’s important that we tell people how much we care about them and give them their flowers while they are alive.  Oftentimes, we fail to show people that we don’t take them for granted until it is too late or the person has decided to part ways for good. Remember, 1 Peter 4:8 states, “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love makes up many of your faults.” (TLB)

Therefore, I’ve learned that we live in a world where we take relationships [personally or professionally] for granted.  We speak slowly when expressing endearing words like I love you, we refuse to give hugs because we’ve become so sedated worrying about what others might think, or we fail to visit often because technology has become our silent non-emotional communicative device of choice.   Hum

The older I become the more I struggle with forming human relations or adequate strong bonds of sisterly relationships because of the fake overlays. I constantly have to remind myself that some of us fail to appreciate good relationships because we were never taught how to be a good friend, mother, sister, or partner.  I believe as women, we are nurturers by design; therefore, we love hard and we internalize hurt even deeper than our male counterparts to a degree.  That’s why it’s important that we work on forming lasting relationships that bring about balance and joy.  As women of God, we must remember according to 1 Corinthians 13:7 “If you love someone you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost.  You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him”. (TLB) Wow, what powerful words to live by daily.

As of today my sisters, pick up the phone a little often, drop a handwritten letter in the mail just to say I’m thinking about you, help make a meal, babysit for a day, surprise a friend with a love offering, take someone out to lunch, or even say a prayer for someone who needs it.  All these little components are important in life when forming strong, healthy relationships because if we implement 1 Corinthians 13:13 according to God’s words “There are three things that will endure-faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of these is love” (NLT) then we should be rich beyond our wildest dreams.

Build lasting relationships starting today,

~Shamenomore
